Our organization is continually blown away by the accomplishments of the students we serve. For this reason, we’re brining you a “Senior Spotlight Series” that highlights the successes of some of our Class of 2017 graduates. If you’re a scholarship recipient who recently graduated and would like to share your story, email Alexia!
APESF has been serving the Blake family since 2010. Jack is in our senior spotlight, but we love getting to share an update about his sister, Núria, too!
Jack (who we shared about in a previous blog post) just graduated from Brophy College Preparatory. He committed to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, a rising swimming power in the very competitive SEC. He will be studying mechanical engineering while training and competing. “Alabama is a great fit for Jack — it will be a transforming experience in every sense,” shared his father. We plan to see Jack in the national (and probably even global!) swimming spotlight in years to come!
Núria, also an APESF scholarship recipient who graduated from Xavier back in 2014, is studying on a grant at the University of Barcelona this summer and will stay to work with family after school is over. She has finished three years at the University of Arizona as a physiology major with a minor in psychology. In Tucson, Núria works as a caregiver for another student, volunteers at a medical clinic for the homeless and plays water polo and soccer. She loves Tucson.
What an honor it’s been partnering with the Blake family in support of their children’s private education!
